First Steps While You Reach Us
| Situation | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Knocked-Out Tooth | Pick it up by the crown (not the root), gently rinse without scrubbing, and if possible, place it back into the socket. If you can't, keep it in milk. Time matters, so call and come in immediately. |
| Broken or Chipped Tooth | Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces and bring them with you. |
| Lost Crown or Filling | Keep the area clean. If you still have the crown, bring it with you. Over-the-counter dental cement can help protect the tooth temporarily until you are seen. |
| Severe Tooth Pain or Swelling | Rinse with warm salt water and use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek. Call us as soon as possible—swelling may indicate an infection that requires prompt treatment. |
